Frequently Asked Dog Grooming Questions
How long does the grooming appointment last?

It depends on the dog's size, temperament, condition of coat, and several other factors. I         pride myself on taking the time to make sure every dog is given appropriate attention to           ensure safety and quality. Most dogs are done in 2-4 hours.

How often should my dog get groomed?

We recommend every 4 to 6 weeks, depending on the dog. Proper coat care is essential to pet health.

My dog doesn't like other dogs. Is it ok for him to be groomed?

Yes. No dogs are in contact with each other. If the dog is not in my hands being worked on, he/she is in a crate.

What if my dog doesn't like the crate?

Safety is my #1 priority. If I am not working on a dog the dog is placed in a crate. It is the safest spot. If your pet is extremely stressed about being crated please contact me about scheduling an early morning in-out appointment.

Will my pet be sedated?

No. We never sedate pets, nor do we accept any pets that have been given sedatives prior to the appointment. Sedated animals should only be in the care of a vet.

Do you take my dog outside for potty breaks?

No. Your dog's safety is primary and we groom your dog safely and comfortably inside. Please remember to walk your pets before their appointment and to clean up after them.

My dog is not vaccinated. Can He still get groomed?

To maintain a healthy environment for our canine clients, we ask that you provide proof of vaccination for rabies. One of the most valuable means to protect your pet's health and to maintain a healthy environment at K9 Design is to have your pets properly vaccinated against disease. K9 Design and it's staff does everything in their power to provide a safe and clean environment for your pets, and we ask that you do your part by following your veterinarian's recommended vaccine protocol. We highly recommend the Bordatella vaccination.
