I grew up with two loves; dogs and art. I always knew when I was younger that I wanted to do art or work with animals when I grew up. In high school I stumbled upon a job as a grooming assistant and was instantly hooked. I thought, "Wow, a job that combines the 2 things I love more than anything!" Grooming is just like art; you are essentially sculpting a dog into a masterpiece.
I am Red Cross Pet CPR/First Aid Certified, and a member of the NEPGP, as well as the NDGAA. I attend trade shows and seminars regularly to try to learn the latest grooming trends and techniques.
Happily married with 2 boys, I also share my home with a hairless sphynx cat; Fernet, my conure Banana. And, of course, my beloved standard poodles Darby & Dawson. When I'm not grooming dogs, my other passion is my hobby farm where I raise turkey, guinea fowl and chickens.
